HONORING LEGACY, INSPIRING HOPE
BIBI NOOR SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM [BNSP]
The Bibi Noor Scholarship Program (BNSP) was born from a heartfelt journey that intertwined the past and the present..Nooruddin Jalal, the founder of the Bibi Noor Foundation, returned to his hometown of Chitral after 26 years. This visit was deeply personal, as his primary purpose was to pay homage at his mother’s grave. During his stay, Nooruddin felt drawn to revisit his childhood school in Denin, Chitral. While walking through its halls, he reflected on his mother’s dreams of giving him a better education by sending him to a central school in Chitral. During those years, Nooruddin lived with his grandfather, Dast Aman, helping at his shop and attending this school. Standing in the school after so many years, Nooruddin experienced what he could only describe as a calling. It became clear to him that the best way to honor his mother’s memory was to support the education of students with both potential and need—giving them opportunities to succeed and thrive. Moved by this realization, Nooruddin shared his vision with the school principal, saying:
“Now I don’t have a hug from my mother when I visit her grave, but I can give back in her memory through scholarships for these students.”
From that moment, the Bibi Noor Scholarship Program (BNSP) was established, with the mission of empowering students by supporting their education and nurturing their potential.Over time, BNSP expanded its reach beyond the walls of that single school, extending scholarships into every valley of Chitral. Each year, 15-20 scholarships are awarded under the BNSP initiative, ensuring that students across the region have the opportunity to realize their dreams.
In 2024, Nooruddin expanded the foundation’s mission by introducing the Dast Aman Scholarship Program (DASP) for boys. Named after his late grandfather, Dast Aman—a man who played a pivotal role in Nooruddin’s upbringing—this program reflects his grandfather’s values of resilience, kindness, and dedication to family. Just like BNSP, DASP provides scholarships to boys who demonstrate both potential and need, helping them achieve their educational goals and build brighter futures. Together, BNSP and DASP ensure that 15-20 deserving students each year receive the support they need to succeed, continuing the legacy of generosity that Bibi Noor and Dast Aman inspired.
“Now I don’t have a hug from my mother when I visit her grave, but I can give back in her memory through scholarships for these students.”
Each year, one boy and one girl from each valley will be awarded these scholarships, totaling 20 scholarships annually.
